Setting up a New Floating License

In this guide, we will show you how to:

1. Install the Capvidia License Server,

2. Load the Capvidia software license(s) onto the server

3. Connect the end-user computers to the server.

This guide assumes that you are installing new floating licenses with a new floating license server.

License Server Setup

Step 1: Download the Capvidia License Server

Download the Capvidia License Server from the Capvidia website: Capvidia.com

Step 2: Install the Capvidia License Server

Install Capvidia License Server on your computer/workstation/server first and request a license within the License Server Manager software:

1. Install Capvidia License Server

2. Request a license for your product(s). Example: License> [your Capvidia software]>Change

3. Fill out your # of simultaneous users and company and request a license key by clicking on Request Key.

4. Select 'Copy the request to the clipboard' and paste the information in a reply email to your account representative or support@capvidia.com.

Step 3: Wait for Capvidia license key

Once the Capvidia Support Team gets the request, we will generate a license and send a reply email to you. We generally respond within hours, but sometimes it takes up to 1-2 business days.

When you get this License Key, open the License Server Manager application again and plug it into the License Key field.

Connecting Capvidia applications to the Capvidia License Server Manager

Step 1: Download and install Capvidia product

Download your Capvidia product from the Capvidia website and install it: Capvidia.com

Step 2: Connect your application to the Capvidia License Server Manager

When you first run the unlicensed software, you will be presented with the license registration screen shown below. Select “Floating” from the License Type dropdown menu.

Then enter the server address in the License Server textbox. After pressing OK, the software will automatically acquire a license, and you are ready to go.

How to get your License Server address

If you don’t know your license server address, here’s how to find it.

1. On the license server computer, right click on This PC and select Properties

2. Copy the Device Name from the Device specifications section.
