Open as Revision

In situations where two QIF files have been saved separately, or where revisions were not created through MBDConnect for Creo, the revised file can still be opened in MBDVidia and the changes can be identified. This functionality ensures that differences between versions can still be reviewed even when the files were not generated as formal revisions.

  • When the button Open in MBDVidia is selected, a file selection window is displayed:

  • At the bottom of this window, a checkbox labeled Open as Revision is available. Once this checkbox has been enabled, we can select the files to revise:

  • Begin by selecting the most recent revision file. This ensures you are working with the version that contains the latest changes.

  • When prompted, select the previous file. This earlier revision will be used as the baseline against which the latest changes are compared

Once the revision document is generated, we can proceed to open it in MBDVidia to review the modifications made to the model.

  • Information about removed annotations can be found in the information panel:

  • Modified annotations can be seen in the Bill of Characteristics and will have a delta sign () next to the annotation name. Hovering over the delta sign will display what type changes were made:  Value, tolerance, DRF etc.

  • Added annotations are displayed in the Bill of characteristics with the plus sign () next to the annotation name.
