Customization of 3D HTML Report

Prev Next

A 3D HTML Report allows a simple way to share and review 3D product information. It brings together the Model Tree, the Bill of Characteristics, and an interactive 3D viewer in one file. Because it opens directly in any standard web browser, there’s no need for MBDVidia license or other programs. This makes it easy to distribute both inside your company and with external partners or suppliers.

This report is particularly useful when traditional 2D report would not effectively convey the needed information.

Our HTML report comes with a default layout, but it is highly customizable, allowing you to adjust the branding and color shame to match your specific needs or corporate identity.

Personalization: Branding and Colors

Under Reporting set options in MBDVidia, there are options that allow customization and personalization of the 3D HTML report.

In the General settings, there are options to edit font height, model transparency, company logo and font.

In the tab Colors, color pallet can be specified to meet branding requirements.

In the 3D HTML set, there are additional options that can be changed, such as, disclaimer statement, logo height or specify whether the toolbar will be visible.

General information sidebar

When the 3D HTML Report is opened, General Information Panel is displayed on the left side. General Information Panel gives information about the model. Properties that are defined are preconfigured but can be edited through config.xml file.

Config.xml

To make changes to the General Information panel, you will need to modify 3dhtml_config.xml file. The file is located in the MBDVidia installation folder. Example of the file path:

"C:\Program Files\Capvidia\MBDVidia\report3d\3dhtml_config.xml"

3dhtml_config.xml file should be opened in Notepad or Notepad++ so it can be modified. Once the file is opened, we can change the names and values of different fields, and properties that will be displayed in the report.

When making changes in the configuration file, ensure that all Names and Values begin with a capital letter.

Now we are ready to export our Customized 3D HTML Report.

Similarly, fields can be added by inserting this part of the code and adding name of the field and value to the 3dhtml_config.xml file. Also, they can be removed by deleting the field we do not want.
